Plain language, no fine print. This page describes what the public decessit.ca site and the early-access program do — and don't — collect.

Scope

This policy covers the publicly accessible marketing site (decessit.ca) and the early-access program for licensed estate professionals. It does not cover future product areas; when those launch, this page is updated first, before features.

What we collect

On this site, nothing is collected automatically.

That's the complete list. We do not use cookies, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, ad networks, fingerprinting, or personalization tools. Your visit to this page is anonymous; nothing in your browser tells us who you are.

How we use it

Form and email information is used only to contact you about Decessit — early-access updates, pilot logistics, and replies to your questions. We do not send marketing apart from that, and we never sell or share your information.

Where it's stored

This marketing site is static content with no personal data in it, served by Cloudflare's network. When the early-access capture is fully wired, submissions will be stored on a Canadian-hosted data plane (datacentres in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary). Estate file data — wills, statements, SINs — is treated as sensitive: it sits only on Canadian infrastructure, is de-identified before any cross-border processing step (with consent and a data-processing agreement), and is never used to train models without your explicit opt-in.

A note about sensitive data

Please don't send wills, account numbers, SINs or other estate documents through the public form or by email to our general address. Estate material is handled only within a formal pilot arrangement, which includes your consent, closed-file status, and redaction.

Retention and deletion

We keep contact information only while it's useful for the early-access conversation. To delete yours, email hello@decessit.ca with the subject "delete" and we remove it — actively and verifiably — and confirm with a receipt. Pilot files are returned or deleted on request at any time, and are retained after the pilot only with your written agreement.

Third parties

Cloudflare hosts this static site (a US-incorporated provider; the page carries no personal data at rest there) and operates standard, brief operational logs. Beyond that, no third party has access to your information.

Security

HTTPS everywhere, no third-party scripts, and a single static file as the entire attack surface. This is close to the safest configuration a public site can have. The product plane adds Canadian residency, role-based access, and an immutable audit trail.

Your rights, and ours

We operate under PIPEDA and the spirit of PIPA (AB/BC): consent, purpose limitation, and deletion on request — all of which this page describes. Questions or concerns are welcome at hello@decessit.ca; we answer.
